Thanks so much for including me in this round up! And putting me in the company of Neneh Cherry, who I've known a little through mutual friends - and admired a lot - since we were both probably in our 20s. I read the article on dementia with (self) interest as my father has mixed dementia. Whilst I recognise the grief sadly I cannot recognise the experience. My dad's dementia is brutal and unrelenting there are no recognisable elements left just a doggedly persistent survival instinct, anxiety and bewilderment. I find that looking for moments of levity really helps, for example the time when he told me the local dog poo bin was actually full of bags of money, I was slightly worried he'd tested his theory but fortunately not as apparently it is for people who need help and he's fine!
