Something I've noticed about menopause is that there seems to be more talk about it. It's not "super secret" only to be spoken of in hushed tones, if at all. I see a lot more women doctors talking about to bring awareness to it and what it does to your body. There is more to it than just hot flashes, more than I ever knew at least.
I generally love your weekly shares, but the New Yorker article left me raging. Menopause may have been talked about on and off before, but it's still not tackled in most schools or medical studies in most countries. Women have no clue what is going on, and it is astonishing that in terms of life-years, the single most impactful transition is still regularly ridiculed. I prefer the meno-posse to anything that's come before. At least we are getting some level of useful info.
I’m just interested in watching the conversation. When I went into perimenopause 10 years ago, there was nothing. No information, no guidance, nowhere to turn. It’s the whole reason I wrote the shift and launched the podcast and this substack. I do have to admit though that I’m finding the celebrity rush to flog us meno-products a bit much. We need information and options not highly priced moisturisers that make rich people richer…
thanks for including my piece and a shout out to the women's prize Sam!
Bless you for highlighting that E. Jean post, which I hadn’t seen. Loving the roundup, per usual!

Yes that’s changed in the UK in the last 3-4 years and in the states a bit more recently. We’re definitely cracking the whisper network
