I have to be honest, this is the bookclub of my dreams, one that’s been on my wishlist since The Shift bookclub started. I could hardly believe our luck when Marian said yes.

Marian Keyes needs zero introduction, but just in case… she’s the beloved author of 16 novels that have sold millions of copies around the world. Think Rachel’s Holiday, Anybody Out There, Grown Ups and one of my personal favourites, Sushi for Beginners. (She also co-hosts the hilarious podcast Now You’re Asking with Tara Flynn. My Favourite Mistake came out in the UK in April and shot straight to number one in the bestseller lists. It follows Anna Walsh who, in the midst of a perimenopausal midlife crisis, chucks in her on-the-face-of-it glamorous New York life and returns to the bosom of the Walsh family and the tiny Irish town of Maumtully (population 1,271) to help her friends set up a luxury coastal retreat.

Cue furious locals, pesky exes (well, one in particular) and a host of mistakes just waiting to be unmade…
