• Because “everybody” knew.

• Because” everybody” always knows. But nobody ever says anything (except, in this case, Katherine Ryan. Brave woman.).

• Because when you do, you are silenced or scared off or sued or all three.

• Because “everybody” also knows about the celebrity author and “everyone” is waiting for it to come out. But no one (including me) will say his name. Let alone type it. Because his lawyers will come for them.

• Because, “It’s what happens with the talent. Boys will be boys. It’s not a big deal.”

• Because “why didn’t they go to the police?” (Two words: Sarah Everard)

• Because “why are they only speaking up now?”

• Because “they’re just jumping on the bandwagon”.

• Because some people seem to think women get their kicks hanging out in police stations making false rape claims.

• Because “why didn’t she leave?”

• Because “why doesn’t his wife/…
