April Bookclub reveal
PLUS link for Tuesday's bookclub live with The Painter's Daughters author, Emily Howes
A couple of years ago, my old friend (and boss) Eleni Kyriacou came to Scotland on holiday. While we were feeding our faces in one of my favourite cafes (hello Beach House, Portobello) she mentioned that she was writing a novel inspired by the penultimate woman to be hanged in Britain. Everyone knows of Ruth Ellis, the last woman hung for murder, in Holloway in July 1955, but who had ever heard of Styllou Christofi?
Not me, that’s for sure.
